Who is the accountant?
The post of Lekhpal comes under the Revenue Department, Lekhpal was also called Patwari in the past, both are the names of the same post. In some states, it is still known as Patwari, Patel, Karnam Adhikari, Shan Bhogru etc. Under Lekhpal, there are two posts of Consolidation Lekhpal and Revenue Lekhpal, to become Lekhpal, the candidate has to give written examination as well as interview.

Eligibility to become an Accountant

1. You must have passed 12th.
2. Candidates who have passed 12th from any stream are eligible.
3. There is no minimum percentage condition.
4. The age of the candidate for the post of Lekhpal should be between 18 years to 40 years.
5. Relaxation is given to the reserved category candidates as per the rules of the states.
6. Candidate must have computer certificate.

Lekhpal is a kind of revenue department officer. Most of the work of Lekhpal is in rural areas. Lekhpal has one or more villages, he has complete information about the land of those villages. The entire account of the land has to be kept by the accountant. For example, who has how much land, what is on that land, what kind of land is there, who has control, etc. And what is being sown on the land, what kind of work is being done.

Lekhpal has to solve the problems related to agriculture and always walks shoulder to shoulder with the farmers. If there is a loss of the farmer, then it is the job of the accountant to compensate him and solve other problems etc. If you are buying any land or selling any land, then you have to do this work in front of the accountant. The division of any land and the transfer of land is also done in front of the Lekhpal. The lekhpal also has to do the work of making income certificate, filling disability pension etc.

The salary of a lekhpal is according to the seventh pay pay according to the 21700-69100 pay-grade. Lekhpal is a clerical post which comes under Group C. Apart from this, they also get many allowances and other facilities. So the demand for it is very high.
