The main function of this institute is to provide space related technology for India. India’s first satellite was launched on 19 April 1975. Which was named after the mathematician Aryabhata. Since then ISRO has sent 466 satellites into space. Out of which 124 are from India and 342 from 34 countries are foreign satellites.
ISRO Job Process
ISRO itself prepares its own batch of scientists every year through the Indian Institute of Science, but also recruits scientists from outside in other roles. Not only scientists, ISRO also needs people of different abilities for many other tasks. ISRO appoints candidates for Space Scientists and Engineers only. Young graduates are generally recruited as scientific engineers in fields like electronics, mechanical, electrical, civil, computer science, etc. For the job of ISRO Scientist, one should have BE, B tech, BSC, BSC Engg degree. Candidates who have done course in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical field. They can apply for this post. Candidates must have passed with at least 65% marks. After applying, the candidate has to go through a written exam and interview, which is considered quite tough.
office working time
ISRO Offices start at 09.00 AM which usually ends at 5.00 PM. However, according to the need, some people stay in the office for a long time and keep working. There are 5 working days in a week and 2 days weekly. There is no such work here, which you have to do by taking home. Mobiles are not allowed inside the office.

The work culture at ISRO is superb. You get a chance to work with bright people. Transfers are very less here. The atmosphere of the departments of the centers here is neither government nor corporate. Every new recruit is randomly sent to different departments and cities. You don’t necessarily get a place directly in the designing or launch-vehicle or satellite department. Talking about facilities, the canteen here is quite affordable. There are accommodation and transportation facilities. Children’s education is free. Health cover and holidays are better. Salary and allowances to be received (ISRO Job Salary)
Everyone’s salary pattern in ISRO is different. By the way, when a new scientist is appointed here, he gets the pay scale of the scientist according to the seventh pay commission of the central government, along with emoluments and many types of allowances. Here the process of promotion is very slow, the first promotion comes after 4 years. After which your salary will increase as you get promotion.
