New Delhi, Sep 18 (PTI) Over 12 JD(U) leaders from Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu formally joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) here on Sunday.

Janata Dal United (JDU) leaders and elected members of local bodies joined the BJP in the presence of BJP President JP Nadda here.

This is the third unit of Nitish Kumar’s party JD(U) whose leaders joined the BJP after the JD(U) parted ways with the BJP. Earlier, JD(U) leaders from Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh units had joined the BJP.

BJP general secretary Tarun Chugh said that 16 JD(U) leaders from the union territory joined the party on Sunday.

Earlier it had some MLAs in Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh who joined the BJP. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is meeting opposition leaders to form a united front against the BJP for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
